ICSE, ISC, CBSE reschedule examination dates ahead of Assembly polls
The Council For The Indian School Certificate Examination Responsible For Conducting ICSE And ISC Examinations Every Year Has Revised Timetable For Class 10 And Class 12 Examination 2017, CBSE Has Also Revised Its Examination Dates.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination which conducts ICSE and ISC examinations every year has announced the revised timetable for Class 10 and Class 12 examination 2017.The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class X exam has rescheduled examination dates from March 10 to April 21, earlier it was scheduled to begin on February 27.While, ISC examination for Class XII, which was scheduled to begin on February 6 and conclude on April 5 has been preponed and will now begin on January 30 and conclude on April 26.
A total of 2,50,871 candidates have been registered for examinations in 2017, with 1,76,327 candidates registered for ICSE examinations and 74,544 for the ISC examinations.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has also revised Class 10 and Class 12 board exams has been rescheduled and will begin on March 9. The Class 10 papers will continue till April 10, while the Class 12 exams will continue till April 29.
Also Read: Unhappy PM Narendra Modi leaves presentations made by secreatries midwayCBSE said in a statement that “all possible efforts” were taken to ensure that there was a “reasonable time gap” between the major papers.Gerry Arathoon, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination chief executive and secretary in a press statement said consequent to the dates for the assembly polls in five states, the dates of the ISC and ICSE year 2017 examinations had to be rescheduled.
“As a result of rescheduling of the examinations, the candidates will now have the benefit of added study time. The schedule of entrance examination for admission to professional courses has been taken cognizance of, for the candidates taking the ISC examination,” Arathoon said."The timetable for the ISC & ICSE 2017 Examinations is being revised owing to the forthcoming elections to the legislative assemblies of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur & Goa.", said the notice posted earlier in its official website of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), which conducts Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations.
