Income Tax dept questions Lalu's daughter Misa Bharti in benami land deals

The Income Tax department on Wednesday questioned Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Misa Bharti in connection with 'benami properties'. The officials questioned him for six hours.
On Tuesday, the Income Tax Department had slapped charges under Benami Transaction Act against Lalu Prasad Yadav’s wife Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharti and Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav.
The department had issued a notice to recover assets worth Rs 9 crore. The department had attached 12 plots of Misa Bharti, her husband Shailesh, sister Ragini & Chanda, Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav.
The market value of attached property is Rs. 175 crore, but the book value (purchase rate on records) of the property is Rs. 9.32 crores.Reacting to the development, Tejashwi Yadav had dubbed the action as a political vendetta and asserted that he has not hidden anything and ready to submit his reply if he gets summon.
