Over a hundred expatriate Indians gathered at a luxury hotel here to get a glimpse of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he arrived in Vietnam on his first visit to the communist nation.
Chants of Modi, Modi reverberated in the lobby as the Prime Minister walked into the hotel late this evening after arriving in the Vietnamese capital.
Drummers welcomed the Prime Minister, who arrived here on a two-day trip, as the walkway was lined up with Vietnamese girls wearing traditional attire with flowers.
Modi, dressed in a pale orange kurta and churidar, went around meeting and greeting the people gathered there as some hurriedly bent to touch his feet.
The Prime Minister has a hectic schedule tomorrow which includes meetings with the top leadership here and paying homage at the Ho Chi Minh’s mausauleum.
