Indian Woman Uzma Returns To India After Permission By Islamabad HC; She Had Said She Was Forced To Marry A Pakistani
Indian woman Uzma, who accused a Pakistani man of forcibly marrying her returns to India after permission by Islamabad HC. On Wednesday, Islamabad High Court granted permission to Uzma to return to her country. Uzma was be escorted to the Wagah Border with police security.Â
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj took to twitter to welcome Uzma back to India. She wrote 'Uzma - Welcome home India's daughter. I am sorry for all that you have gone through'
The order was passed by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani after hearing the pleas filed by Uzma, a doctor by profession, and Pakistani national Tahir Ali.Â
A bench, headed by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, ordered the directive after returning her original immigration form. the form was submitted in court by her husband, Tahir.
Tahir wanted to meet Uzma in private, which the latter refused. Justice Kayani  said that if Uzma does not want to meet Tahir, then she won't be forced.
On May 19, Uzma had submitted a 6-page reply to the High Court and reiterated her earlier claims and said that she was forced to sign the Nikkahnama [marriage papers].
Last week, a senior Indian diplomat’s cellphone was seized inside a Pakistani court during the hearing of Uzma case.Â
