Indo-Bangladesh forces celebrate Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan
As A Part Of A Confidence Building Measure, Border Guards Of Bangladesh And India Today Joined A Pre-celebration Programme Of Independence Day And Raksha Bandhan At Petrapole On Indo-Bangladesh Border In West Bengal.
As a part of a confidence building measure, border guards of Bangladesh and India today joined a pre-celebration programme of Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan at Petrapole on Indo-Bangladesh border in West Bengal. Personnel of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Forces (BSF) took part in the programme, sponsored by a private radio channel, a BSF statement said. "As part of confidence building measure between the two forces, BGB Officers, Subordinate Officers and their Troops total approx 60, and 35 of their school children also joined in this event," the statement said. BSF maintains cordial relations with the local population as a confidence building measure, it said. "There are many such activities like visit of school children to each other's country, conduct of sports activities, which are conducted by both the Border Guarding Forces," the statement said.
