Pallavi Vikamsey, daughter of Institute of Chartered Account of India (ICAI) president Nilesh Vikamsey, who went missing on Wednesday, was found dead on railway tracks under mysterious circumstances in Mumbai.
The 21-year-old intern with Oasis Counsel went missing on Wednesday. The parents of Vikamsey informed Police and launched a manhunt to find her.
“Family members launched a manhunt after her parents failed to contact her,” police said.
Police said that the deceased was returning home from a law firm in Fort where she was interning. She lived in Parel with her family.
GRP Police sources said she was last seen boarding a train from platform no. 5 at Mumbai’s CSMT station.
The sources said that Dadar GRP Police has traced an eyewitness and a statement shall be recorded on Friday.
“It is not clear whether Vikamsey fell from the running train on the opposite tracks or whether she jumped off in front of an oncoming train,” said Nitin Bbade, senior police inspector of Dadar GRP.
The parents of the deceased had not alleged any foul play and police is investigating the case to find out the reasons behind her mysterious death.
Friends, relatives and people from the CA fraternity are offering condolence to the ICAI president.
