Two terrorists attempting infiltration killed by security forces along Line of Control (LoC) in Nougam in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. Two soldiers also lost their lives in ongoing operation.
“Two terrorists attempting infiltration in Nowgam Sector, Kashmir eliminated. Two soldiers martyred in ongoing operation,” Army said in a statement.
“An infiltration bid was foiled by alert troops along the LoC in Naugam sector. Two infiltrating terrorists were killed,” an army official told.
He said two soldiers attained martyrdom in the operation, which was continuing till last reports were received.
Earlier on May 15, the security forces had gunned down two suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants in Kupwara, north Kashmir. They were allegedly involved in a suicide attack on an army camp in Panzgam last month.
The militants were affiliated with LeT and their identity was ascertained, he further added. Two AK-47 rifles, two pistols, four AK magazines, two pistol magazines, two grenades, maps and cash were recovered from the encounter site.
