At least 52 infants have died in last one month in Jamshedpur’s Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College hospital.
As per ANI report, the superintendent of MGM hospital said malnutrition is the reason behind the deaths. The state has been facing the problem of malnutrition among kids, and latest figure added insult to injury.
The development came on the close heels of Gorakhpur tragedy where 30 kids died due to lack of oxygen.
Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das had launched Nutrition Mission Jharkhand (NMJ) in 2015 to tackle the menace and had ordered to serve eggs in mid-day meal at all Anganwadi centres across the state.
