Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will be visiting New Delhi today to attend a meeting of the Sub Group of State Chief Ministers, constituted in the NITI Ayog, to rationalise the centrally-sponsored schemes.
“Sayeed will be visiting New Delhi today to attend the meeting of the Sub Group of State Chief Ministers, constituted in the NITI Ayog, to rationalise the centrally-sponsored schemes,” an official said.
Chief Minister would also be attending a function in the national capital where former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be awarded Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award, he added.
The Sub Group of the Chief Ministers, which will meet on March 27, will look into the 66 centrally-sponsored schemes and identify which must be cut, which are to be continued and which can be transferred to the States, he said, adding it is expected to submit its recommendations by April.
