JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar’s medical examination report showed that he received external injuries during the attack on him at the Patiala House court complex, which contradicts claims by police.
The medical report disclosed that Kanhaiya Kumar was injured. There were multiple abrasions on his left foot and nose, apart from tenderness in his left toe, a police source said today.
The student leader was produced in the court on Wednesday after the end of his police custody, where a group of men dressed in lawyers’ robes unleashed a brazen attack on him and others, which included journalists, who were present there.
Following the incident, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi had said that Kanhaiya Kumar was “well-protected” and he was “not beaten up”.
He, however, initiated inquiry into reports of stone pelting on him.
Later in the night, the police registered two fresh cases in connection with the violence at the court complex, of which one pertained to the attack on the student leader, who has been arrested on charge of sedition over a controversial event at JNU campus where anti-India slogans were allegedly raised.
