To The Relief Of Many PM Modi Also Provided Exceptions And Easy Ways For An Urgent Condition, Which May Arise Till The Banks Reopen After Two Days And Exchange Of Notes Begins
The surprise announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes on Tuesday led to people wondering where can they use their bank notes.
But to the relief of many PM Modi also provided exceptions and easy ways for an urgent condition, which may arise till the banks reopen after two days and exchange of notes begins.
Here is a list of places and institutions which will accept the demonetised currency notes in the next 72 hours:
# Government hospitals, medical stores with doctor's prescription
# Railway ticket counters, counters at government bus depots
# Petrol, diesel, and CNG stations run by public sector companies
# Milk booths and crematoriums
# Cooperative shops ration shops, Safal shops and dairies recognised by the state government
# International airports which will be equipped with the facility of exchanging the old notes for foreign tourists and all those going to foreign countries up to a limit of Rs 5000
