Lalu Prasad Yadav admitted to Mumbai's Asian Heart Institute, granted six-week bail
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday was admitted to Mumbai’s Asian Heart Institute. Prasad had undergone a bypass surgery a few years ago and had sought an appointment with famous heart surgeon Ramakant Panda at the institute, sources said.
The former Bihar chief minister was convicted in fodder scam cases and now has been granted a six-week bail by the Jharkhand High Court.
"A team of five doctors -- a general surgeon, physician, nephrologist, diabetologist and cardiologist -- has been put together to examine and treat him as required," the hospital said in a statement.
Prasad, who was in jail since 23 December 2017 following his sentencing in a fodder scam case, was convicted and sentenced to jail in two more fodder scam cases.
