The rebel groups active in the northeast parts of the country have warned Hindi speakers and Bangalis to leave Tripura and parts of Assam and West Bengal before March 31 or face dire consequences.
The diktat has been passed by Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO), National Liberation Front of Twipra (NLFT) and People's Democratic Council of Karbi-Longri (PDCK).
The group headed by National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) and United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-Independent)have released a letter in this regard terming the Indian rule as 'colonial occupation'.Â
The Hindi and Bengali speakers have come under the radar of the rebels after BJP announced it plans to grant refugee status to persecuted no-Muslims from neighbouring countries, primarily Bangladesh.
The letter read: "We oppose heinous killings by Indian Army and rehabilitation programme for Bangladeshi Bengalis. We hereby would like to notify Indian citizens (Bengali and Hindi speaking people) to quit Kamatapur, Karbi-Longri and Tripura."
