Liquor baron Vijay Mallya says cases are fabricated, baseless

Liquor baron Vijay Mallya, before his appearance at the Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday in London, said that the charges leveled against him were ‘fabricated and baseless’.
News agency ANI quoted Mallya as saying, “I have said repeatedly that charges are false, fabricated and baseless. I have nothing to say, submissions in court will be sent evident.”
The liquor baron denied to make any further comments and said, “I am not the decision maker and would follow the proceedings.”
He also told the reporters, "Please hear the proceedings."
The 61-year-old liquor tycoon is scheduled to appear before London's Westminster Court shortly. Mallya is wanted in India for defaulting on loans more than Rs 9,000 crore and alleged money laundering charges. He has been under a self-imposed exile in the United Kingdom since he left India on March 2, 2016.

Mallya is currently out on a 6,50,000-pound bail bond following his arrest by Scotland Yard over money laundering charges. Mallya is out on bail since Scotland Yard executed an extradition warrant in April this year. The extradition trial is scheduled to end on December 14.
