Terrorists sneak into Kashmir's Budgam, Sopore; soldier injured, 5 terrorists gunned down
Police Sources Said A Security Force Personnel Sustained Injuries During The Operation While Two Civilian Youth Were Hurt In Security Forces Action Against Protestors Who Were Trying To Disrupt The Anti-militancy Operation.
Five militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pakherpora area of central Kashmir's Budgam district, the Army said on Thursday.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Futlipora in Pakherpora area, 45 kms from here, following information about presence of militants in the area, an Army official said.
He said the militants opened fire on security forces, who retaliated, triggering a fierce gunbattle.
Police sources said a security force personnel sustained injuries during the operation while two civilian youth were hurt in security forces action against protestors who were trying to disrupt the anti-militancy operation.
As it happened:
# Another terrorist gunned down by the security forces.
# 4 terrorists have been killed in the ongoing gun-battles in Sopore and Budgam.
# One terrorist has also been gunned down in Sopore by security forces. The encounters are still underway.
# One soldier has been injured in the encounters.
# Three to four terrorists are believed to be hiding in the area.
# Mobile internet services snapped in Budgam district.
# Security forces are engaged in encounters with terrorists in Budgam and Sopore.
Earlier on Friday, joint security forces had nabbed a Pakistani terrorist having links with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) from Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Further, on November 21, a soldier was martyred and three others suffered bullet injuries in a fierce gunbattle between terrorists and joint security forces in Kupwara district.
