Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa passes away on Monday night after massive cardiac arrest.
The Apollo Hospital on Monday said that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa continues to be on life support and that the reports of her death are baseless. AIADMK too has denied such claims and the flag that was half-mast at the party headquarters was hoisted again.
Meanwhile, AIADMK said that CM Jayalalithaa responding to treatment being given by experts.
Jayalalithaa, who has been undergoing treatment in hospital since September 22, suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening. Following the cardiac arrest, Jayalalithaa was put on a heart assist device.
On November 19, she was taken out of the intensive care unit to a hospital room, but was moved back on Sunday. C Vidyasagar Rao, the acting Tamil Nadu Governor, had on Monday morning visited the hospital to enquire about her health.
People across the country were seen offering prayers for her speedy recovery on Monday, while a large crowd of her supporters thronged the hospital.

Jayalalithaa, 68, complained of fever, dehydration and congestion on September 22, after which she had been in intensive care. She was then put on ventilator and was treated with antibiotics for infection and lung congestion.
Later, a tracheostomy was done which involved making a hole on her wind pipe near the neck so that the doctors didn't have to put the tube through her mouth.
For her treatment, the team of doctors at Apollo Hospitals was joined by a team of doctors including UK-based intensivist Dr Richard Beale and doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, comprising pulmonologist Dr G Khilnani, anaesthesiologist Dr Anjan Trikha and cardiologist Dr Nitish Nayak.
Some days later, she was on a regular diet and received passive and active physiotherapy.
She was moved to a personalised room on November 19. The room had facilities of ICU including respiratory support, medicines and equipment for emergency care.
On December 4, it was announced that he has been recovered fully.
