The crucial floor test turned out to be in favor of Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar who proved his majority in the state assembly on Thursday. Followed by the directions of the apex court, Parrikar, who claimed to have support of 21 MLAs including 13 of the BJP got a total of 22 MLAs to secure the majority for chief minister's post.

The decks for his swearing-in were cleared after a bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar refused to grant the stay on the Congress’ plea and ordered a floor test.
