Members Of Two Groups On Friday Clashed Over Playing Loud Music During A Procession To Celebrate Maharana Pratap Birth Anniversary In Saharanpur. Police Report Said That 1 Person Was Killed And 15 Others Got Injured. Many Houses Were Torched.
Members of two groups on Friday clashed over playing loud music during a procession to celebrate Maharana Pratap birth anniversary in Saharanpur. Police report said that 1 person was killed and 15 others got injured. Many houses were torched.
The situation got deteriorated to such level that police from neighbouring districts have been called to pacify the situation. Apart from the houses being torched, 10-12 two-wheelers have also been put to flames. The incident occurred in Shabbirpur village in Saharanpur district.
The incident occurred in the foundation laying programme of Maharana Pratap’s statue. People from Shabbirpur village were going to join the event in a procession by playing loud music. People from another group started throwing stones at them.
Then, people from event site joined to save people from stone-pelting. Both the groups then got involved in riots.
