Loan waiver: Maharashtra govt transfers Rs 392 crore in farmers' accounts

A total amount of Rs 392 crore has been transferred to the farmers’ accounts in 11 banks under the farm loan waiver scheme, the Maharashtra government on Friday said.
In June this year, the state government had announced Rs 34,000 crore loan waiver scheme.
“A total of Rs 899 crore have been transferred to the Cooperation Department. Out of it, Rs 392 crore has been transferred to farmers’ bank accounts,” an officer in the chief minister’s office issued a statement.
