Low Pressure Area Over The Northwest Bay Of Bengal, Is Likely To Cause Heavy Rainfall In Several Parts Of Odisha
A low pressure area over the northwest bay of bengal, is likely to cause heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha, the weather department said.
Sea condition will be rough to very rough, the Met office said, advising fishermen not to venture into sea. The low pressure area of Saturday now lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal.
The situation is likely to improve in the next 24 hours, it said. Under its impact, rains and thunder showers are likely to occur at most places over Odisha, the Met office said.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places, with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of south Odisha, is likely to occur during the next 24 hours , it said.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also expected at one or two places over the districts of north Odisha, it added. Strong gusty surface wind from the north westerly direction in the southern region and south easterly direction in northern region with a speed reaching 45-50 kmph, and gustsup to 60 kmph, are likely to prevail along and off the Odisha coast.
