Major breakthrough has been achieved in the case where a 28-year-old girl was found shot dead at her residence in Lucknow's PGI area.
It was said earlier that Martina Gupta committed suicide but now reports are coming that she was murdered by her father.
Now, Martina’s mother informed that her husband Rakesh Gupta has murdered her.
Police have arrested Rakesh on the statement of Martina’s mother. Rakesh has already accepted that he shot dead his daughter.
It is being said that Rakesh had murdered his daughter after she refused to marry.
Earlier, police said, her father's licenced weapon was recovered near her body.
According to Lucknow Police, at least five rounds of bullet were pumped into her body or she shot herself.
"We are investigating the matter in all angles. It would too early to comment," said a police officer investigating the case.
The officer added, they received a call from her parent's after she did not respond for more than five hours or so. The girl's parents were shocked to find the girl lying in a pool of blood when police broke the door to recover her body.
