Madhya Pradesh: Youth tries to rape two-year-old, agitated mob sets his house on fire

People torched a youth’s house on learning his alleged attempt to rape a two year old girl in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri.

According to police, the 18-year-old accused, Roop Singh, tried to force himself on her on finding her alone. When she screamed for help, nearby women rushed to the spot to rescue her.

The accused even tried to kill the girl after his failed attempt, but the women nabbed him and handed him over to police.

Following the incident, the agitated crowd went on rampage and along with youth’s house, several vehicles and cylinders were set on fire.

"I heard my daughter's scream while i was washing utlensils at my home and rushed out to rescue her", victim's mother said in a statement.
