Maharashtra govt decides to cut VAT on petrol, diesel
The Chief Minister Further Added, Penal Action Will Be Taken Against Sellers Who Sold Non-certified Pesticides.
The Maharashtra government has decided to slash prices of petrol and diesel by Rs.2 and Rs.1 respectively. The prices will be effective from midnight Wednesday.
Speaking over the deaths of Yavatmal farmers, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said a case of culpable homicide will be registered against manufacturers of non-certified pesticide.
The chief minister further said, "Penal action will be taken against sellers who sold non-certified pesticides."
Fadnavis said the government is providing 10,000 protective gear to farmers so they can prevent such incidents in future.
“Giving protective gear to 10,000 farmers so that we can stop these kind of incidents: Fadnavis said.
The Gujarat government has also decided to reduce the value added tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel by 4 per cent.
