Mainpuri: In Mulayam's bastion, police beat two men to death
Earlier Police Had Claimed That The Two Men Died After Drowning In A Pond While Escaping The Police. A Case Of Murder Has Been Registered Against Four Policemen And Two Home Guards.
Two labourers in Mainpuri, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's bastion, were beaten to death by policemen at a checkpoint for refusing to give a bribe of Rs 100. The two men identified as Dileep Yadav and Pankaj Yadav did due to the injuries sustained by them during an assault.
Earlier police had claimed that the two men died after drowning in a pond while escaping the police. A case of murder has been registered against four policemen and two home guards.
The complaint was lodged by a relative of one of the deceased. He claimed that four labourers were travelling in a truck loaded with bricks when it was stopped at a check post near Kosma crossing at around 4.30 am on Friday.
Police there demanded a bribe of Rs.100 but the truck driver refused to do so. Following which the two labourers along with the driver fled from the scene.
