West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee equates BJP to ‘militant organisation’
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday equated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to a 'militant organisation' and accused the party of creating fights among Hindus.
"We are not a militant organisation like the BJP. They are creating fights not only among Christians, Muslims but also among Hindus," ANI quoted the West Bengal CM as saying.
Banerjee's remark came a day after BJP's West Bengal chief Dilip Ghosh's statement that Trinamool Congress leaders will be jailed or killed in encounter once his party comes in power in the state.
"Every bullet will be made to count. Leaders who indulge in hooliganism in Bengal will soon either be in jail or straight away there will be an encounter," Ghosh said while addressing a protest rally in Jalpaiguri.
Reacting to the Ghosh's threat, TMC MLA and state minister Gautam Deb said that the state BJP chief was speaking the language of a "terrorist" and not a political leader.
"His language is shocking. The language of a terrorist, not a political leader in a democracy," Deb had said, demanding police action against Ghosh.
