Five killed after fire breaks out at residential complex in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi
In a tragic incident, five people have lost their lives after a residential complex in Mandi was gutted in a major fire at the wee hours of Monday.
"Five persons lost their lives in the fire that broke out at a residential building at Ner Chowk in Mandi," the news agency ANI reported.
Prima facie, LPG Cylinder blast is believed to be the reason behind the fire. However, the exact cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained.
Several people are still feared trapped inside the building while three fire engines and water tankers have been mobilised to douse the blaze.
Meanwhile, more personnel are being sent to rescue the trapped. RugveThakur, the District Magistrate of Mandi also reached the accident site.
"The situation is under control and all help is being given to the effected, " Mr Thakur told NDTV. An investigation has also been initiated to find the exact cause of the incident.
