Manipur youth drowns to death in Hauz Khas lake in Delhi
A 21-year-old Boy From Manipur Drowned As The Hauz Khas Lake After He Allegedly Jumped Into The Lake To Take A Dip On Monday Morning.
A 21-year-old boy from Manipur drowned in the Hauz Khas lake after he allegedly jumped into the lake to take a dip on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Horthan.
Police said he had come to Delhi from Manipur last month in search of a job.
“We are investigating the death of the youth in all angles including suicide,” said a Delhi police official who rushed to the lake on learning the incident.
Delhi Police said that around 6 am a distress call was made by the victim’s friends to the police control room.

Police added that Horthan’s friends informed the control room that their friend jumped into the lake.
The police further added that Horthan was accompanied by two other friends to the Deer Park for morning walk.
The deceased’s friend informed the police that they paced ahead, while Horthan removed his clothes and jumped into the water.

A rescue team including officials from fire department a Delhi police recovered his body from the lake around 9am.
In the last 15 days, this is the second case of a Manipur youth’s death. Son of a former Manipur home minister Okendro R died after falling from a balcony of a building housing two restaurants in the Hauz Khas Village.
