Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi hold talks with visiting Lankan PM Wickremesinghe
Former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi met Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in New Delhi on Friday and held talks on issues of bilateral cooperation between the neighbouring countries.
Wickremesinghe is on a three-day visit to India in an effort to deepen bilateral ties in trade and investment and maritime security among others. He arrived in the city on Thursday.
After the meeting with the Sri Lankan PM, Rahul Gandhi said it was “good”.
"The meeting with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka was good," the Congress president wrote on Facebook.
Former Union minister Anand Sharma and some Sri Lankan officials also attended the meeting. Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are slated to hold wide-ranging talks on Saturday.
