Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar On Thursday Said That His Personal Take On India’s Nuclear Policy Is That The Country Being A Responsible Power Should Not Get Into In The First-use Debate.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday said that his personal take on India’s nuclear policy is that the country "being a responsible power" should not get into in the first-use debate.
Sources in the government later said that Parrikar’s remarks must be taken as his personal opinion and not his official position." Parrikar made the remark at a book launch.
Here is what all the Defence Minister said:#Necessarily if there is any question or danger to the country, I will not open the book first#'Be unpredictable' is part of the strategy. But we have to have a written book so that in general, we follow that direction#The day surgical strikes happened, no threat has come again: Manohar Parrikar#Used to get threat from Def Min from neighbouring country that they are going to use tactical nuclear weapon if they're threatened
