Medical college scam: CBI court sends former Odisha HC judge, others to four-day police custody
The Arrests Were Made On Wednesday Night After A Detailed Search Operation At Eight Locations, Including The Residence Of Justice (retired) Quddusi In Greater Kailash Here. Searches Were Also Carried Out In Bhubaneswar And Lucknow.
A Special CBI court at Tis Hazari on Thursday sends former Odisha HC judge IM Quddusi and five others to four-day police custody.
The CBI had sought five-day police remand of all five accused including former Odisha HC judge.
The central investigative agency informed the court that 'big nexus is working' and told about recovery of 1.86 crore.
The arrests were made on Wednesday night after a detailed search operation at eight locations, including the residence of Justice (retired) Quddusi in Greater Kailash here. Searches were also carried out in Bhubaneswar and Lucknow.
The others arrested in the case were B P Yadav and Palash Yadav of the Prasad Educational Trust which runs a medical college in Lucknow, Biswanath Agrawala, a middleman, and hawala operator Ramdev Saraswat, the CBI sources said.
"The arrested accused will be produced before a competent court on Thursday," a CBI spokesperson said.
