The home ministry has filed an First investigation Report with Delhi Police to formally probe how, why and under what circumstances crucial files went missing in Ishrat Jahan Encounter case.
The FIR was launched at the Sansad Marg police station by V.K. Upadhyay, under secretary to the Government of India, under Section 409 (Criminal Breach of Trust) of IPC with the Delhi police.
In March 2016, a team of MHA had found that around five different documents, including two affidavits, were missing
