Moderate intensity quake hits off North Andaman island
The Earthquake Struck At 12.37 PM At A Depth Of 35 Km Off The Coast Of North Andaman Island, Director General Of India Meteorological Department (IMD) L S Rathore Said, Adding It Was Of Moderate Intensity.

A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale hit off the coast of North Andaman island today but the Meteorological Department said there was no threat of a tsunami.
The earthquake struck at 12.37 PM at a depth of 35 km off the coast of North Andaman island, Director General of India Meteorological Department (IMD) L S Rathore said, adding it was of moderate intensity.
He said there was no threat of tsunami. The Indian Ocean and the Andaman Sea is prone to earthquakes and often records tremors.
