Two taxi unions in Mumbai have decided to go the Ola and Uber way with an app called ‘9211’, which is set to be launched soon.
So now, Mumbaikar’s will be able to avail the services of the cab with just a phone call. The service will more of self-service and the taxi drivers will be require to enrol themselves directly from the 9211 app.The app is likely to be launched by the end of January and is expected to be launched with safety features, GPS tracking and an SOS button.A control room has also been set up in order to monitor active rides. The app will initially accept only cash and later is it expected to offer online payment options as well.The ride is likely yo begin from Rs 22 for the first 1.5 kms.
