My mother too strong to commit suicide, says Sunanda Pushkar's son
Menon Is Sunanda's Son By A Previous Marriage. He Said That Sunanda And Shashi Tharoor Were Very Much In Love, Despite Occasional Differences Which They Overcame.
Sunanda Pushkar's son Shiv Menon has said that her mother was too strong to commit suicide, adding her death was an "unfortunate combination of media stress, tensions and wrong mix of different medications."Menon is Sunanda's son by a previous marriage. "Her death was peaceful, she passed in her sleep," he said in a statement. His statement came after a magistrate asked the Delhi Police to probe whether Sunanda's death was accidental, a suicide, or murder, based on the autopsy report which said she died of poisoning. In his statement, Sunanda’s son further said, "Anyone who knew my mother would simply know that she was too strong to commit suicide. I also do not believe that Shashi was capable of physically harming her, let alone the speculation that he could have taken her life."He also said that Sunanda and her husband Shashi Tharoor were "very much in love, despite occasional differences which they overcame."Sunanda Pushkar, who was upset over an alleged extra-marital affair between her minister husband Shashi Tharoor and a Pakistani journalist, was found dead in a five-star hotel room which police suspect may be a case of suicide. The body of 52-year-old Pushkar, a woman entrepreneur who married Tharoor in August 2010, was found in mysterious circumstances in luxury Leela Palace hotel in South Delhi.
