Myanmar Consul General Pyi Soe was killed in an road accident in Jharkhand’s Giridih district on Friday morning.
Jharkhand Police said that Soe along with his family was travelling to Kolkata on a sports utility vehicle (SUV). The car they were travelling in rammed into a truck at the Nimighat.
Pyi Soe was appointed as Consul General at The Consulate-General Of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in 2016.
According to police, the eyewitness told them that truck was in a great speed.
“People who witnessed the incident said that the truck driver lost his controls over the wheels and rammed the heavy vehicle into the counsul’s SUV,” said a police officer of Nimighat.
According to police soe died at the incident site, while his wife and two other people accompanying him have suffered serious injuries.

The injured were rushed to a local hospital in Dumri and later shifted to state capital Ranchi for better medical treatment.
Giridih superintendent of police and other administrative officials had rushed to the incident site to rescue to the Myanmar consul.
