National Commission for Women issued notice to JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav over his disparaging remarks on women. Yadav raked up a controversy when he, during a public gathering said that honour of vote is important than that of a daughter.
In a video released by ANI, the senior JD(U) leader is heard saying “beti ki izzat se vote ki izzat badi hai” which translates to “the honour of vote comes above the honour of daughter/s”.
Sooner he took a U-turn from his statement reiterating that “one should equally honour votes and daughters.”
“I didn’t say anything wrong, we should honour votes as we love and honour our daughters, only then the government and country will succeed together”, he added.
