Nirmala Sitharaman to celebrate Diwali with Army troops in Arunachal Pradesh’s Dibang Valley
This Diwali, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will celebrate with the Indian Army troops deployed at forward posts in Arunachal Pradesh remote valley, officials said Tuesday. She will be accompanied by Eastern Army Commander Lt Gen Manoj Mukund Naravane and other senior officials of the Army.
On Wednesday, Diwali Day, Sitharaman will fly over the Dibang Valley and visit Anini and Andrala Omkar forward posts in the district and meet the troops there, Kohima-based Defence spokesman Col Chiranjit Konwer told reporters.

The Andrala Omkar post is 35-40 km from the nearest road head, he said, adding that the defence minister would be briefed about the defence preparedness and infrastructure improvements by the Army when she reaches there.
Sitharaman would also meet and interact with the families of soldiers who died in the line of duty, the spokesman added.
