CM Nitish Kumar trashes BJP-led Opposition's demand for CBI probe in BSSC paper leak case
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar On Tuesday Trashed The BJP-led Opposition’s Demand For CBI Probe Into The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) Exam Paper Leak.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday trashed the BJP-led opposition’s demand for CBI probe into the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) exam paper leak.
He stressed that an “impartial” police probe into the case would leave nobody, whose name figures in the clerical grade examination, untouched.
Kumar also ridiculed the BJP for accusing the government of “shielding wrongdoers” including some ministers and ruling party legislators in the case as well as in the matter involving a JD(U) MLA and absconding Congress leader in the alleged sexual exploitation of a minor girl.
“When the police is investigating the case impartially what role the government has in it?” he asked.
Mocking the BJP, Kumar said he would ask them to move a private member bill for Amendment in IPC and CRPC in the Assembly to get power of investigation for themselves in such cases.”
“We will cooperate to pass such an Amendment to IPC and CRPC and if the President gives consent to it, we would love to make the BJP leaders of their choice as investigating officer in cases like BSSC paper leak and others,” he said.
BJP and its NDA allies were not present in the House at the time the CM was speaking as they had staged walkout alleging rise in scandal and corruption under the present dispensation.
Kumar, who is heading Grand Alliance coalition government, was speaking on motion of thanks to Governor’s address to a joint sitting on February 24.
Facing attack from BJP in both Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council in connection with BSSC exam paper leak and those connected with suspended JD(U) MLA Mewalal Chaudhary and absconding Congress leader Brajesh Pandey, the CM gave point by point reply to all allegations.
