The Kerala High Court today banned burning of hazardous wastes like plastic and rubber, which is a punishable offence in the state, and directed police to take action against those violating the order.A division bench, comprising acting Chief Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan and Justice Anu Sivaraman, also directed local government authorities to supervise and ensure that burning does not taken place in their area. The order was issued while hearing a petition filed by All Kerala River Protection Council.
