Padmavati row: Rs 5 cr bounty for beheading Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone announced
Padmavati Has Been Embroiled In Controversy Ever Since The Director Started His Shoot In Jaipur.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial Padmavati has been making waves for not so good reasons. The upcoming movie has been embroiled in controversy ever since the director started his shoot in Jaipur.
The sets of the period drama were vandalised by Karni Sena members in January this year. If this was not enough, Bhansali was allegedly assaulted by the members of the Rajput outfit.
The lead actress of the magnum opus Deepika Padukone recently opened up on the entire controversy and said, "It's appalling, it's absolutely appalling. What have we gotten ourselves into? And where have we reached as a nation? We have regressed.''
The 'Piku' star comments didn't go down well with Shri Rajput Karni Sena (SRKS) who threatened to cut her nose if she did not abstain from inciting public sentiments.
After the maiming threat was issued by Karni Sena, another group has joined the bandwagon. Meerut based Thakur Abhishek Som has announced a bounty of Rs five crore for beheading the 'Tamasha actress and Bhansali.
It is being reported that Thakur is the national president of Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Yuva Mahasabha.
Abhishek Som who claimed affiliation to Samajwadi Party has warned Deepika to leave the country or suffer the consequences. He has accused Bhansali of meddling with the history and being only interested in earning profits.
The film which is slated to release on December 1 also stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the respective roles of Ratan Singh and Alauddin Khilji.
With just few days to go for the release of the film, we wonder if the controversies will die down or not.
