Mumbai Police On Thursday Has Beefed Up The Security Of Actor Deepika Padukone After Shri Rajput Karni Sena (SRKS) Announced To Cut Her Nose Incase She Did Not ‘refrain From Inciting Public Sentiments.
Mumbai Police on Thursday has beefed up the security of actor Deepika Padukone after Shri Rajput Karni Sena (SRKS) announced to cut her nose incase she did not ‘refrain from inciting public sentiments.
“We have increased actor Deepika Padukone’s security after the outfit issued the nose chopping threat,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Deven Bharti.
He added that the Mumbai Police is providing adequate security after the threat. “The police will even provide her security at her residence and office in Mumbai,” said Bharti.
The joint commissioner of police also said, “ We have already provided protection to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali after the Rajput community outfit protested outside his office in Juhu accusing him of distorting historical facts in the history drama. We have beefed up security at Bhansali's residence in Versova in the city.”

Karni Sena leader Mahipal Singh Makrana earlier on the day had announced to chop the actor’s nose like Lakshman did to Surpanakha in epic Ramayana. He then said, “If film Padmavati was not banned and Padukone does not refrain from fanning sentiments with her provocative language, the Rajputs will not lag behind in acting.”

The Karni Sena has called for a country-wide bandh on December 1, the day the film slated to be released. The group had attacked sets of the movie in Jaipur and even slapped Bhansali.
