Pak violates ceasefire, army foils infiltration bid in Kupwara

Army on Tuesday foiled a major infiltration bid by militants to sneak into Kashmir from across the Line of Control in Kupwara district.
Suspicious movement of about eight to nine persons was noticed in the area between the LoC and fencing in Furkiangali in Kupwara, a Defence spokesman said.
On being challenged, the militants opened fire which wasretaliated. "Heavy casualty is expected on the militant side.However, the operation is still in progress as intermittentexchange of firing is going on," the spokesman said.
