Gujarat elections: Patidar movement leader Nikhil Savani quits Bharatiya Janata Party, accuses party of bribery
A Few Hours After Narendra Patel, A Close Aide Of Hardik Patel, Claims Of Being Offered Rs 1 Crore To Join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Another Patidar Leader, Nikhil Savani, Has Quitted The Saffron Party.
A few hours after Narendra Patel, a close aide of Hardik Patel, claimed of being offered Rs 1 crore to join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), another Patidar leader, Nikhil Savani, announced his decision to quit the saffron party on Monday morning.
The announcement was made by Savani during a press conference on Monday morning. Nikhil Savani had joined BJP hardly a fortnight back.
“It was my mistake to join the BJP. The Saffron party does not want any development for the Patidars. It is engaged in buy and sell politics” added Savani.
He added that he is quitting the saffron party because they are not fulfilling the demands of the Patidars as promised.
“I had joined the party because BJP-led Gujarat party had taken few good decisions but did not fulfil any,” he added.
Savani further said that the BJP-government is trying to pass time.
“Very soon model code of conduct will be instigated in the state as Election Commission announces the election. The BJP needs Patidar support till the election,” added Savani.
During the press conference he also claimed that the BJP is offering Patidar leaders with hefty amounts to switch loyalties.
Savani further added, “Narendra Patel comes from a very low income family. He was offered the Rs 1 crore but he chose the community.”
