A petrol bomb was thrown at at BJP Thiruvananthapuram district committee office on Wednesday night.
Fortunately there were no injuries or any serious damages because of the attack.
After the incident, BJP has called district strike on Thursday. According to the party, ruling CPM was responsible for the attack, responding to the attack on the CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury by right-wing activists.
The attack happened at around 9:15 PM. But no assailants were seen by anyone. Furniture on the portico of the office got damaged.
Earlier when the protest march was led by CPM, flagposts of BJP were allegedly vandalized by their activists. The district collector ordered that all the flagpoles erected at public places to be removed, irrespective of the political party, to prevent any law and order problems.
