The White House on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit United States this year. US President Donald Trump spoke to Narendra Modi over phone and said that he looked forward to play host this year.
"President Trump also said he looks forward to hosting Prime Minister Modi in Washington later this year," the White House said in a statement.
The dates for Modi’s visit to US is yet not decided.
Trump congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the outcome of recent state elections and expressed his support to the Indian leader's economic reform agenda, the White House said.

Earlier, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that Trump congratulated Modi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday on their electoral victories.
