Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the Opposition on Wednesday accusing it of stalling the demonetisation debate in the Parliament.
Tearing into the opposition over continuous uproar on the issue during BJP’s parliamentary board meet, Modi condemned opposition parties for creating an impasse in both the Houses and not allowing debate on major reforms.
Finance minister Arun Jaitley too criticised the Opposition saying it just wants to disrupt the proceedings for one reason or the other.
“We were ready for debate and still are. Opposition wanted PM to be present in the house so PM has been regularly present. It seems the Opposition just wants to disrupt proceedings for one reason or the other,” ANI quoted Jaitley as saying.
