PM Modi speaks to Sarbananda Sonowal and Nitish Kumar, offers support to Bihar, Assam to overcome floods
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Offered Support To Assam And Bihar So That Both The States Can Overcome The Disastrous Situation Caused By The Floods. He Spoke To Both Sarbananda Sonowal And Nitish Kumar Regarding The Situation.
Monsoon floods and landslides unleashed by unprecedented rains have killed hundreds and affected lakhs across the country with places like Assam and Bihar being adversely affected. Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered all support to Assam and also spoke to CM Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday and Monday regarding the situation in the state.
Further, he also spoke to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the flood situation in the state on Monday and assured him of all support from the Centre to mitigate the situation.
The situation is being monitored closely, the prime minister said. "My thoughts are with all those affected by floods inparts of Bihar," Modi said.

"Centre assures all support to Bihar government tomitigate the flood situation. Teams of @NDRFHQ are in Bihar for rescue and relief work," the PMO tweeted.
Due to rains in the catchment areas of Nepal andSeemanchal district, rivers like Mahananda and Kankai in Biharhave swelled leading to floods in four districts.
The chief minister had demanded an additional deploymentof 10 companies of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)in the state, besides deployment of the Indian Air Force'shelicopters to carry out relief-and-rescue operations.
