Rajasthan Police seize Rs 64 lakh from 3 people in Jaipur
Out Of Rs 64 Lakh Rs 58 Lakh Has Been Recovered In New Currency Notes, The Probe To Ascertain The Cash Holder And Source Is Underway.
Rajasthan Police on Monday recovered at least Rs 64 lakh cash from Jaipur. Out of Rs 64 lakh Rs 58 lakh has been recovered in new currency notes. The police have recovered the cash from three people on information that the trio used to exchange currency on commission.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Ratan Singh said, "Rs 64 lakhs seized from 3 people on information that they exchanged currency on commission. Rs 58 lakhs in new notes".
Income Tax sleuths and police have been condunting raids across India since the PM Narendra Modi demonetised Rs 500 an Rs 1000 currency notes on November 8.
On, Saturday, the I-T officials found cash worth Rs 13.65 cr, including at least Rs 2.61 cr in new Rs 2,000 currency notes, from a law firm in Greater Kailash 1.
Delhi Police Crime branch raided T&T law firm in R 89, Greater Kailash –I, New Delhi on Saturday and recovered a huge amount of nearly 10 crores.
Further, the cops think that at least 2.5 crores of the currency is available in the form of new notes. The Exact amount of the currency recovered will be known only after counting.
