Amul goes digital, ties up with MobiKwik for 15-20 per cent e-wallet

Fintech company or digital payments company MobiKwik on Wednesday announced a tie-up with dairy cooperative Amul to enable the latter's customers to make cashless payments with mobile wallet at Amul's exclusive and multi brand outlets.
The move comes at a time when demonetisation has left people with less cash in hand and nudged many to explore digital transactions. "...it is our constant endeavour to make MobiKwik paymentsubiquitous. Now, Amul product buyers across India can useMobiKwik to pay for their daily dairy buys," MobiKwik co-founder Bipin Preet Singh said.
With MobiKwik, 15-20 per cent of transactions at Amul stores are expected to go digital, the statement added.
"Through this pan India initiative we shall be accepting payments with MobiKwik wallet, from our millions of consumers to our more than 3 lakh retailers and 7,000 dealers of milk and dairy products," Amul Managing Director R S Sodhi said. Mobile wallet companies such as MobiKwik and Paytm haveseen a spike in transactions with new users opting for digital payments to avoid the queues at ATMs.2
