On the ocassion of Rabindranath Tagore 156th birth anniversary President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid rich tribute to Nobel laureate. Rabindranath Tagore was the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. It was for the beautifully written Gitanjali
Taking to Twitter, President Mukherjee said that Tagore was an icon who not only illumined the time he lived in but continues to remain an inspiration for humanity.
Prime Minister Modi also tweeted saying that Tagore will always be remembered for his powerful thoughts and contribution to the freedom movement
